He is a member of the Monster Kid Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Monster Bash Life Achievement Award.

When not online, you can find Derek at home in the Pacific Northwest either spending time with his amazing and spooky wife Beth, serving his cats Wednesday and Juniper, playing with his funny-shaped dice, watching a movie from his collection of monster movies, or trying to figure out how numbers work.
